Born on a Frozen Lake in the Heart of Winter
FrostlineFishing.com was founded in 2018 by Marcus Holt, a lifelong ice fisherman who spent decades mastering the craft across frozen lakes in Canada, Scandinavia, and Central Asia. After years of watching friends and family struggle to get started in ice fishing — intimidated by the cold, the equipment, and the sheer "how do I even begin?" confusion — Marcus had an idea.
What if someone created a tour company that specialized purely in beginners? No judgment. No assumed knowledge. Just patient, expert-led ice fishing experiences designed to take complete novices from zero to confident fishers in a single day.
That idea became FrostlineFishing.com — and in our first season alone, we guided over 200 beginners onto the ice. Today, we've helped more than 2,400 first-timers discover one of winter's greatest joys.
